THE ROOST LODGE · KALISPELL, MONTANA

THE VENUE

A hand-built lodge and a glowing sailcloth tent. Mountain views and minutes from Flathead Lake. One property for the ceremony, the reception, and the whole weekend.

ONE PROPERTY, EVERYTHING ONSITE

Built by hand, for the kind of weekend a one-day venue can't hold.

The Roost Lodge wasn't converted from a barn or a banquet hall. It was built from the ground up using Finnish carpentry traditions — old-growth Douglas-fir beams, hand-laid Montana stone, precision joinery — by an owner who treated every detail as a reflection of his own standard. The result is a five-bedroom lodge, a catering kitchen, a 90-foot sailcloth tent, and a hilltop of open farmland with views that run all the way to the mountains.

Couples book the whole property for the whole weekend: rehearsal dinner Friday, ceremony and reception Saturday, a slow morning-after breakfast Sunday. Your people stay on the hill. Nobody drives anywhere.

THE LODGE

Five bedrooms. Sleeps twelve. Yours for the weekend.

The great room opens two stories to a timber loft, anchored by a stone hearth and walls of hand-fit log. A master with a king, four more bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a pull-out sofa sleep twelve comfortably — so the wedding party wakes up where the wedding happens.

CATERING

Three ways to cater, all onsite.

Most venues give a caterer one cramped prep corner. The Roost gives them three options. The Lodge Kitchen — a wide granite island, double ovens, and hanging racks of cookware — opens straight onto the dining area for plated and family-style service. The commissary kitchen adds commercial-grade prep space with a walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer, so a full-scale caterer has real room to work. And there are two on-site food-truck pads for couples who want a truck rolling tacos, wood-fired pizza, or late-night sliders right at the reception.

Bring your own caterer or work from our preferred list. Tables, chairs, linens, and dishware are onsite — you're not renting a folding-chair truck from two towns over.

THE TENT

A sailcloth tent that glows at dusk.

Our 32-foot-wide Tidewater Sailcloth tent is built on wooden poles from a translucent fabric that lights up from within after sundown — no liner, no draping, no hiding it. It expands in 20-foot bays from 30 feet up to a full 90 feet, so it scales to a 40-guest dinner or a 200-guest reception without looking half-empty or packed tight.

Set it on the lawn with the valley behind it and the work of decorating is mostly already done.

AMENITIES

Everything that makes a wedding weekend feel like a stay, not a rental.

The Grounds — Two Event Sites

The property has two distinct lawns, each a full ceremony, reception, and tenting site. Use one, or split the weekend across both.

ORCHARD RECEPTION · 32' X 90' TENTING

The Back Lawn

Open farmland, a big shade tree, and the range on the horizon. A wide-open setting for the ceremony or the tent — the second event site, with views that carry all the way to the mountains. Late spring through fall the grass runs deep green, and the long Montana light holds from a Friday-evening welcome to Sunday morning.

CEREMONY · COCTAIL HOUR · FAMILY REUNION

The Front Lawn

A wide, manicured lawn rolling out from the gabled front of the lodge — the formal face of the property, with the timber-and-stone entrance as the backdrop. The first of two tenting sites.
